This is a career-graded post and the grade at which an appointment will be made is dependent on candidate skills / experience and service needs: 

Entry Level – Band 8 £24,799 - £26,999 Annually

Mid Level – Band 9 £27,905 - £30,507 Annually

Higher Level – Band 11 £34,788 - £37,849 Annually

Darlington is an historic market town, located in the southernmost part of County Durham, on the border with North Yorkshire.  Darlington is part of the Tees Valley sub-region and is a Borough of 76 sq km, one of the UK’s smallest Unitary Authorities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within Darlington Borough Council’s Development Management Team.

Your main responsibility will be to manage and determine planning applications, but from time to time you will also be asked to assist our planning policy teams.  

You will demonstrate the ability to work as part of our friendly and committed team of planners and support staff, have experience of dealing with a variety of complex planning issues, be an excellent communicator and show a clear commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
