Job Details

Hart District Council works hard to make a positive contribution to the lives of our residents and to ensure that a decent quality of life is extended to everyone in Hart.  We do this by delivering continuous improvement and innovation in delivering the services that matter most to our residents.

We are looking for eager, motivated and organised planning professionals to join our team. You will need a flexible and pragmatic approach to work and be a professional and customer focussed officer with the ability to provide sound planning advice.

In return, we offer the opportunity to be involved in a broad variety of planning matters including complex and challenging cases and offer excellent training opportunities. The post is also subject to a competitive salary, local authority pension scheme, good leave entitlement and a friendly working environment.

The Council holds a set of values at its core; to be helpful, approachable, responsive, and to take ownership of issues as and when they arise; to see them through to the right conclusion for our residents wherever possible. Focused on getting results, you will have a proactive and flexible approach to problem solving and sound judgement. You will also have a strong focus on customer care.

Further information and how to apply can be found at www.hampshirejobs.org.uk.  Please note that the portal uses an electronic form for the application but there is the facility to attach additional documentation to support your application.

For more information on the post you can contact Emma Whittaker on 01252 774115 or by email emma.whittaker@hart.gov.uk .

Company

Planning is firmly at the heart of the Council’s vision to 2040 and we’re consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK.

We're a small local authority with big ambition. We want to do things bigger, bolder, and better than we have before. Our Council is small enough for you to be able to see the direct impact and influence you can have through your day-to-day work and know the names of your colleagues. You will also notice that you get to see the faces of our Senior Leadership and Chief Executives on a regular basis.

At Hart, we work together to shape the environment for the people in our district and we listen to suggestions and contributions from staff at all levels to improve the way we do this.

We’re the place to grow your planning career, come and see for yourself how we empower and develop our staff. The work we have at Hart is diverse and challenging, you can develop your skills and work as part of a friendly and committed team.
