Principal Planner

Principal Planner/Team Leader £40 - £60k + discretionary bonus

Walbrook Planning Consultants is seeking 2 experienced Principal Planners to join their Bath team. You will play a pivotal role within the business, contributing to our growth and overseeing a team of graduate planners. Circle Consulting are managing the appointment of this role and all communication will be redirected accordingly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overseeing and acting as a mentor to a small team of graduate planners. You will support them with preparing applications as well as the submission process, ensuring any errors are corrected and carry out 121’s
• Prepare and submit applications for larger projects
• Build relationships with key stakeholders
• Negotiation with local authorities and other parties
• You will be responsible for business development with the aim of bringing new business and projects into the practice as well as nurturing existing clients. As part of this job responsibility, you’ll be expected to attend networking events, meetings and be pro-active
• As Principal Planner/Team Lead, you’ll work in partnership with the Directors and in their absence, take responsibility for the Bath office and team

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• MSc in Planning
• MRTPI accredited
• Relevant industry experience whether for local authority, development or planning consulting
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Diligent with a strong eye for detail
• Sound IT knowledge
• You’ll be organised, pro-active and able to lead a team effectively whilst providing guidance and support for professional development

Working hours: Monday – Friday 09.00 – 17.00
