About the Role

With an up to date Core Strategy and the Council’s Development Management Plan (DMP) soon to be adopted, a great opportunity has arisen for a Planning Policy Manager to help lead the Planning Policy Team in the implementation and review of these documents and help plan for the future of the Borough.

There are exciting opportunities ahead including master-planning some of the key development sites within the DMP such as a strategic business park, as well as a key role to be played in in the Development Consent Order for expansion proposals at Gatwick Airport and helping to implement the ambitious objectives of the newly adopted Corporate Plan.

Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will lead a committed and enthusiastic team comprising Principal Planning Officer, Senior Planning Officers, Planning Officers, CIL Officer and Research Information Officer.

About the Person

With significant planning policy experience and eligible for membership of the RTPI, you will be the lead person for planning policy matters and deputise for the Head of Planning as required.

The team operates in a supportive and energised environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and positive with excellent communication, IT and organisational skills as well as a strong team-ethic and can-do attitude.
