We have opportunities for ambitious planners to join our east and west area teams to manage a range of development projects through pre-application stage, to application and decision.
The Council has ambitious plans for regeneration, growth and the delivery of new homes and infrastructure. Our new local plan "Managing Growth and Sharing the Benefits" has been through examination and is heading towards adoption in early 2020. We are investing in new ways of working and optimising the use of digital technology to deliver our services.

Successful applicants will be responsible for leading on a range of development proposals, from pre-application stage, to application, determination and decision. The role will also include handling planning appeals, inquiries and providing planning advice to members of the public and councillors.
This is a career grade post suitable for candidates with different levels of experience.
Level 1 is aimed at those who have recently completed a planning qualification or some limited planning experience.
Level 2 is suitable for qualified planners (MRTPI) with a good level of development management experience.
Level 3 (Senior Planner) is suitable for planners with a higher level of hands on experience and able to deliver with less supervision and support.
