Principal Planner

A Principal Planner is urgently required by a leading Berkshire based local authority. As the Principal Planner, you will play a vital part in delivering a number of large Residential and mixed use schemes that progress major development in the borough.

This Principal Planner will focus on managing and processing residential led, mixed use schemes as well as a few big commercial applications ranging from 100 to 250 units.

In addition, you will liaise and negotiate with several high-profile leading property developers, architects and planning consultants etc.

Key duties include;

• Managing and processing a caseload of large-scale major and strategic applications.
• Facilitate close liaison with major developers, architects and external consultants through paid pre-application meetings.
• Negotiate complex S106 agreements in conjunction with discharging conditions and finalising reserved matters.
• Draft detailed delegated reports and present at committee

To excel in this role, you will have strong practical experience as a Senior Planner/ Principal Planning Officer at a UK planning authority with experience dealing with major planning applications.

You must have Town Planning specific or a related degree to be considered for this Planning Officer role.
