We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Monitoring and Enforcement Officer to join our busy and friendly team and help us deliver an effective enforcement and compliance service, covering all unauthorised developments and ensuring compliance with approved plans, conditions and planning obligations.

You will be responsible for investigating complaints of planning breaches and proactively monitoring sites. Many breaches of planning control can be resolved through negotiation, but in some cases, you will be required to pursue formal enforcement action, including drafting reports and formal notices and dealing with appeals.

Candidates must have a good enforcement knowledge and experience and be conversant with reading and interpreting technical drawings and planning policies. You will be required to liaise with a variety of people including landowners, developers, Councillors and members of the public, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential along with the ability to sometimes deal with a conflict situation.
