Situated in the heart of the country, North Warwickshire’s rural landscape, rich heritage and excellent transport links combine to make it the perfect place in which to live and work.  Bordering major Midlands towns and cities and having an extensive green belt, the development control work in North Warwickshire is varied, dynamic and challenging.  Balancing the protection of the countryside with the accommodation of large scale residential and employment development presents an exciting and challenging workload.

We are looking for an experienced Principal Enforcement Officer to join our Development Control and Enforcement Team who can be a key contributor to the management of development in the Borough.

You will be responsible for leading the Council’s duties in respect of planning enforcement matters and will have a junior officer under your direction.  You will be responsible for the investigation and pursuit of major breaches of planning control and for the monitoring of planning permissions.  This will include giving evidence in court prosecutions and at Planning Inquiries, as well as being the Council’s lead officer in Enforcement Hearings.  Sound experience of working in a planning control environment, investigatory skills and knowledge of PACE are essential.

This post requires you to hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Interested? We’d love to hear from you if you are a strong team player who values variety in your work and you are looking for career-enhancing opportunities provided by a friendly yet dynamic, small authority.
