We have an exciting opportunity for a short-term contract to provide maternity cover for one of our planning officers. We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated planning professional to join our small development management team where you can expect to deal with a wide range of planning applications, appeals and related enquiries.

The New Forest National Park has an outstanding and diverse environment. Scattered settlements, villages and vibrant towns sit in an area of internationally renowned landscape with its unique blend of woodland, lowland heath and coastline. The area has a fantastically rich built heritage including 17 Conservation Areas and some 650 listed buildings.

Ideally, you will already have some experience of working as a development management planning officer with excellent communication and negotiation skills. If so, and if you have a degree (or equivalent) in planning and membership of, or are currently working towards full membership of, the Royal Town Planning Institute, then we would love to hear from you.

This is a career-graded post and appointment within the above salary range will be dependent on qualifications and experience. This post is based at the Authority’s offices in Lymington and requires a valid driving licence.
