Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer

One of London's most dynamic borough councils urgently requires an Assistant Planning Enforcement Officer to contribute to the resolution of developments in breach of UK planning legislation.

You will work alongside Senior Planning Enforcement Officers to tackle and remedy illegal and unauthorised development for the built environment that will include a variety of breaches such as residential, commercial, unauthorised works in conservation areas, HMO's, "Beds In Sheds" and S215 untidy land.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Investigate breaches in planning legislation
• Attending and coordinating site visits
• Dealing with telephone inquiries from members of the public
• Drafting witness statements
• Assist with the management of Appeals
• Assist with Negotiating retrospective planning approval
• Liaison with development management teams and colleagues
• Assist with Drafting and serving a variety of Enforcement notices that may include breach of condition and stop etc

This is an ideal position for Graduate Planner or an candidates who may have acquired practical experience as a Planning Assistant who is keen to gain valuable training and expertise in Planning Enforcement.

Preferably successful candidates will have a degree in Town & Country Planning or an affiliated subject with good written and verbal communication skills.
