Planning Officer

Due to sickness and vacancies arising from internal promotion, my Surrey based client is looking for Planning Officer to join their team for an initial three months.

The successful applicant will take on a caseload of between 30-40 applications with an expectation to process them in a timely and professional manner, so as to maintain high performance figures.

Experience of a similar caseload in a local authority is desirable, as is a planning related qualification. There will be an expectation that the worker is office based and regular home working is unfortunately not offered.

Ideally the candidate would be available full time, although for the right candidate they would consider part time working.

The client will also consider a planning graduate with very minimal hands on experience, who they will help in getting up to speed with the work during the contract.

Access to a car for site visits at least once per week is required and there are good travel links by car and rail to the council offices.

Rates will depend on experience and range from £16 to £26/h.
