This is a unique opportunity for a planning professional to provide senior planning advice and input on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). This role focusses most importantly on the proposed Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station which will be, if approved, one of the largest construction sites in Europe.

Suffolk is probably the local authority with the largest number of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects running and we play a major part in the consultation on these often highly complex proposals. Your senior planning advice to our teams will shape our response to these projects.

You will:

  • Be an experienced planner with great project management skills.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge and experience in planning policy and case law.
  • Be a problem solver.
  • Be a skilled negotiator.
  • Be an effective communicator, both written and verbal, to a wide range of diverse, challenging audiences and be looking to broaden your experience.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts. Suffolk County Council - welcoming diversity.
