The Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council’s busy planning department as a Technical Support Supervisor.  The post will be based at The Forum in Towcester.

The Council is seeing large levels of housing delivery and employment growth. The district includes the iconic venue of Silverstone Circuit, two market towns and the edge of Northampton all of which are growing in different ways.  The District also form part of the emerging Oxford to Cambridge Corridor and has a great track record of supporting high quality housing schemes, urban renewal and a sensitivity to historic character as new places are forged.

Not only is the Council proud of its emphasis on achieving high quality design and timely decisions, but we are always looking to improve the ways to process applications to provide an efficient and value for money planning service.

The Person:

The Technical Support Supervisor will supervise the work of the Technical Support Team to ensure a customer orientated and effective service is provided to the Development Management team. 

In addition to providing professional technical advice on planning matters you will ensure the team works efficiently to process all incoming and outgoing information ensuring we meet our statutory requirements.

Motivating, supporting and developing technical staff will be a daily task to ensure we build and maintain a flexible and resilient team. Whilst maintaining a commitment to exemplary customer service you will provide support for the most complex and controversial cases.

You will need good organisational skills with the ability to manage, prioritise and review your own work in addition to the work of technical support team.
