Head of Planning & Development

A privately-owned Property Investment Company based in Central London is seeking an experienced and highly motivated property professional to deliver on the management and development of its growing portfolio. Your key responsibility will be to lead and deliver on all planning and development projects for the business ranging from large-scale industrial through to complex residential projects.

You will be working with senior management to fully understand and define a strategy for current developments and potential new sites that are coming through the pipeline from the acquisition team as well as working closely with land buyers on site identification and initial viability and appraisals.

You will be maintaining strong relationships with external consultants. Meeting and appointing consultants before projects managing various projects through the planning & development process up to construction phases. You will have strong communication skills and ensure that management is kept up to date with project schedules and progress.

Your ability to lead high level conversations with local communities and authorities will give you the best chance of securing consent for the developments and obtaining the best possible outcome for sites.

You will be a strong property professional from MRICS or MRTPI background (or both), have experience in dealing with a range of developments across the UK but with a concentration in London. A broad knowledge and understanding of UK Planning Requirements is essential to succeed in the role as well as some experience in dealing with historic buildings.
