Your new role
The council is offering an impelling and fast-paced opportunity, for an Senior (Development Management) Officer to join their Planning team. The role encompasses a variety of day-to-day activities, including the assessment of all types of planning, consultation, negotiation and written reports. Furthermore, dealing with planning enquires from agents and the public. Alongside dealing with correspondence arising from development control work. Successful candidates will be working on a range of applications, from complex minors - to majors.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need knowledge and application of Town and Country planning and associated legislation, and national, regional and local policy including requirements for public consultation. Proven communication skills, with the ability to present to a diverse range of internal and external audiences using a variety of media and approaches. Negotiation skills/proven ability in negotiation in challenging situations. Ideally you will have a degree in in Town Planning or a RTPI equivalent subject, with a proven track record of handling a range of development management applications.
