Title: Town Planner
Location: London
Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 (Dependant on experience)
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a market leading, independent planning consultancy situated in London, who pride themselves on providing an informed and effective service to designers, landowners and developers across the UK. This particular consultancy has a fantastic reputation for giving clear, efficient and persuasive advice to achieve optimum results for their clients.
The successful Town Planner will be expected to undertake a broad range of tasks and will be heavily involved in the development for the duration of its operation. The Town Planner will have to take on responsibilities such as managing projects involving planning applications and appeals, provide accurate and efficient advice to clients, liaise with planning officers, employees of consultee organisations and third parties. They must also contribute to the preparation and editing of consultant reports which support planning applications including design, access and sustainability statements. The Town Planner must also demonstrate an ability to marshal evidence in support of the planning projects.
The Town Planner will ideally have around 2 years' of planning experience with either a private planning consultancy or local government authority, which would justify the acquirement of a membership to an appropriate professional institute, either the RTPI or RICS. They must also hold experience preparing and managing site appraisals, planning applications, appeals and written representations on planning policy and preferably have an adequate understanding and knowledge of London and the surrounding area.
