Exciting Opportunity in Building Control - Offering £40-£45/hr

Your new company

You will be working at an established London Council. The Council is renowned for infrastructure and reconstruction around the local area. They have several new conservation roles in the pipeline, where by retaining the heritage of the local are and reformatting the borough to fit the needs of the public.

Your new role

Your new role will include co-ordination performance and managing the work of an area building control team and provide guidance and advice on unusual or contentious problems arising.

You will be a member of the Building Control Service's Management Team. To assist the Head of Building Control in the development and instigation of technical and management policy. You will also manage and help manage the Teams activities in line with the Building Control sections business plans.

You will also liaise with the Head of Building control to achieve a uniform policy for dealing with contentious matters. You will also be taking a personal lead on major projects within the Borough


What you'll need to succeed

Fully conversant with, able to interpret and implement all aspects of the regulatory framework as it applies to the Building Control environment under unusual circumstances and during times of regulatory change.

Extensive and detailed knowledge of supervising Building Control projects, including major multi-disciplinary projects experience. You will also need to be fully conversant with the legislation relating to dangerous structures and ability to deal with any immediate danger including the supervision/support of non-qualified staff.
