Enfield’s Planning Service - looking for talented Planners to help shape Enfield’s future.

Enfield is the first London borough to be awarded £156m funding from the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Fund to unlock development growth in our borough; and this is just one part of the ambitious plans that we are developing to shape Enfield’s future. We are energised and passionate about quality place making and the role that planners can have in helping deliver this.

We’re are looking for exceptional candidates to make a contribution to our newly formed Planning Service, that brings together Development Management and Strategic Planning and Design to lead both new strategic policy and help guide projects through the planning process to delivery.

There’s more than one reason why we believe Enfield is a great place to live and work and why it has such an exciting future. Our attractive historic market town boasts a prime location with great transport links into central London. We host a myriad of assets from great green spaces, cultural venues and countryside including the Lee Valley Regional Park, a high performing industrial economy and a range of sites and opportunities for future development, growth and placemaking.

Enfield’s Planning Service is building its capacity to help deliver circa 30,000 new homes  through Enfield’s New Local Plan 2036,  area-wide regeneration and  high quality planning, design and heritage service to ensure successful placemaking and regeneration.

We want to hear from applicants who can contribute  positively to the Planning Service's culture and exciting programme of work.

This role is for a motivated professional to join our Plan Making Team to work on evidence base and help develop policies for Enfield's emerging Local Plan.

The successful candidate is anticipated to work on evidence that will help define the spatial capacity for growth across different places in Enfield, including identifying how and where circa. 30,000 new homes will be delivered across the Borough and how Enfield's industrial and employment land will be intensified and expanded. The successful candidate will then assist in using the evidence compiled to develop draft Local Plan policies that will help positively enable growth.

We are looking for a talented and committed planning professional capable of delivering excellence as part of Enfield Planning Service’s work programme. The role will involve collaboration with various professionals and stakeholder engagement.
