Chartered Town Planner (5-10 Years' Experience)
You’re a Chartered Town Planner with five to ten years’ experience. You’re keen to exercise your professional autonomy and be trusted to make use of your experience in handling a range of large projects. Ideally, you’ll have experience in planning policy and/or land acquisition, but this isn’t essential. Ultimately you want to work for a firm where you’re not just a number. A firm where you are part of a family and an indispensable part of the team.
This role is at Senior Planner level. You’ll be assisting senior colleagues with planning applications for complex developments whilst taking ownership of smaller projects. The workload is varied, encompassing development management, site acquisition, policy work and enforcement. They work across a diverse patch encompassing the Isle of Wight, Arun, Southampton and Portsmouth so there’s plenty of chance to travel and visit some interesting locations.
As you become more confident, you will have the opportunity to develop your own professional network and win projects. You’ll also be working closely with the directors and consultants who have decades upon decades of experience to call upon. They’re eager to pass this on so you can be sure that you’ll be learning every day.
This role is with an established, stable consultancy. They’ve been around for nearly 35 years so you can be sure that they’re here to stay. Technical ability is important but they’re a firm that values culture. They make regular outings to the cricket and the races along with a range of other social events.
They’re based in between Portsmouth and Southampton and are readily commutable from either location.
