An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager to help shape and deliver a major new community based development as part of the growing town of Hemel Hempstead.  

Hemel Garden Communities has recently been designated as a new Garden Town on the edge of the borough of Hemel Hempstead and will deliver 11,000 homes and around 10,000 jobs for the area. The area is within both St Albans and Dacorum and the post will work with both councils to achieve great results.

The role of the Garden Communities Programme Manager is to lead and deliver all the aspects involved in the evolution and delivery of the new Garden Town. This requires an ability to build consensus, working with a range of partners (including the two district councils and the county council) along with land owners and many other stakeholders. It also needs a person who will drive the process of delivery on the ground ensuring that the community are engaged throughout.

The role will include management of a high profile team, sizeable budget and will require excellent and proven skills in project and programme management. The Garden Community is at a stage where you will have a real chance to influence the future shape of the development and the future of the borough and leave a legacy for the future.  This role will absolutely central in the delivery of the Garden Communities to ensure that growth meets our high quality aspirations.

You will have experience or working across a wide range of partnerships Involved in delivering growth and regeneration. Highly motivated, committed and with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be used to working effectively with Council Members, senior officers and a range of external partners. If you are a leader, with a positive attitude who can deliver to targets whilst keeping an eye on the big picture, we would love to hear from you.
