Job Details

We are delighted to be working with an established consultancy, who provide Town Planning services to the residential, commercial and telecoms industry. The company is also involved in the acquisition, design and construction of sites.

There is now a key requirement for a Planning Manager to manage Town Planning projects, submit Planning Applications, General Permitted Development Applications, Planning Appeals and to negotiate leases and licenses. Consequently, an understanding of the planning legislation and development management procedures is important. Excellent written and verbal skills are also important as is liaising with clients.

Day to day work will involve:

  • The management of Town Planning projects
  • Managing clients and providing them with accurate and relevant planning advice
  • The submission of full planning applications, GPDO applications and notifications
  • Appeal assessments and submissions
  • Liaison with colleagues and project management
  • Negotiation of site acquisition leases and licenses 
  • Pre-application consultations
  • Management of applications and appeals
  • Reporting to clients via phone/email/meetings/weekly reports
  • Liaison with Local Planning Authorities

Required Skills:

  • Relevant Town Planning degree or training
  • Able to manage clients
  • Able to work in teams and achieve individual targets
  • Able to deal with continuous change
  • Experience of Development Management
  • Understanding of the appeal process, including experience of submitting written representation appeals
  • Attention to detail and good report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience of submitting planning and related applications
  • Full Driving Licence and confident to drive to sites and meetings
