We are working with a large Yorkshire based Local Authority, who are urgently seeking a Principal Planning Officer to join their team.

You will play a crucial role processing and managing a caseload of minor to small major residential schemes. You will also have an opportunity to work on controversial planning applications and appeal cases, covering all types of development issues and presenting at Committee.

You will be liaising with other departments in the Council and Planning Consultancies and Developers whilst working on some large-scale planning applications in the area.

It is anticipated that this contract will last 6 months, but it is likely to roll on beyond this dependent upon performance.

Rates for this position are between £35-£40 an hour depending on your experience and this council are set up for and encourage home working, and flexible working arrangements can be discussed.

Ideally you will have experience in local authority planning (DM) and be able to hit the ground running with a caseload of applications. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly team of Planners on a contract basis, with the potential for the role to be extended well into 2019.
