New Senior Planning Policy Position - £25-£35/hr - Long Term Contract - Immediate start
Your new company
The Position will be in a London Borough Council. This council is keen on local regeneration that suits the culture and needs of the community. They are ambitious in their outreach and setting targets in achieving a more sustainable and creating better living areas for their community.

Your new role
Key areas of work would be:
Support and take responsibility for the work of the team in the development, implementation, review and monitoring of local planning policies and strategy, including the Statutory Development Plan, Infrastructure Plans, Neighbourhood Planning, Supplementary Planning Documents and Conservation Area Character Appraisals.
Provide expert advice relating to planning policy and related matters (such as, sustainability appraisal, conservation, environmental protection, design, land uses) and community infrastructure at pre-application and planning application stage and where appropriate as an expert witness in support of planning and related appeals.
Prepare and present technical reports for public forum on policy and related matters including reporting the effectiveness and performance of planning policy (such as the AMR) to Council and public meetings.
Provide technical assessments and draft responses to the policies and strategies of other agencies, such as Government, Mayor of London, adjoining authorities and other statutory bodies.
What you'll need to succeed
To apply expertise consistent with the role within a specialist team within the Planning service and contribute to the delivery of team outcomes by applying detailed technical/professional knowledge and skills and through a personal caseload of projects and/or applications.
At more senior levels, the post holder will be expected to support the development of more junior staff and take individual responsibility for projects and initiatives that contribute positively to the delivery of the service, team or corporate plan objectives and values.
