Job Details
I am currently working with a client in the South West who is looking to bring on board a Principal Planning Officer. The role is a long-term role working with a successful authority and would be covering a varied mixture of complex applications.
The contract length would be an 3-6 months with a degree of flexible working available.
Duties will include:
- Provision of paid advice to developers, architects and external consultants.
- Conduct duty planning and provide general planning guidance.
- Co-ordinate and independently carry out site visits and prepare detailed reports.
- Present at committee level when required.
- Covering Major Applications.
- Represent the Council at appeals and public enquiries.
- Mentoring junior members of staff.
The prospective candidate would preferably have the following experience:
- Several year's experience at Planning Officer, Senior Planning Officer or Principal Planning Officer level.
- Experience of a mixture of applications.
- Experience of team management is preferred.
- Private sector experience is considered.
- Ability to work independently.
The rate is open and negotiable, the client would be prepared to wait a few weeks for the right candidate if a notice needed to be worked. The IR35 status is still to be determined.
