The North York Moors is one of 15 UK National Parks which are Britain’s breathing spaces and require a unique balance of environmental, social and economic considerations. We need bright people with a real feel for protected landscape to help us keep the place special.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody looking to establish their career in planning.  You will work with our DM team, but also have the chance to get involved with policy and built conservation work as well.

You will initially be dealing with householder enquiries, straightforward planning applications and providing technical support to our more experienced Planning Officers.

We will look to develop a training programme that suits your needs and you will have a training bursary to spend. Part of your training will include either an MA in Town and Country Planning or the  RTPI’s Higher Level Apprenticeship programme.

Ideally, you’ll need to have a:

  • Planning related qualification;
  • Great attitude to dealing with the public;
  • Practical knowledge of the planning system and related legislation;
  • Real willingness to learn and develop your own career.

Supportive colleagues, flexible working hours, generous holiday entitlements and a final salary pension scheme complete an attractive package.

If you meet these requirements we would be delighted to hear from you. Application forms and further details may be obtained by looking at the Job Opportunities page on our website

Closing date is 9am on Monday 16 September 2019

Interviews are to be held on Tuesday 1 October 2019
