Due to increased work-load, this Kent based Local Authority are looking for a Development Management Planner at either 'Officer' or 'Senior' level to join the team.

About the Role

As a Planning Officer you will be required to take on a ranged caseload of planning applications, notices and orders through all stages of the development process from pre-application advice to statutory process and delivery. You will typically deal with minor residential, commercial and industrial apps however you may also be working on advertisement consent applications, lawful use certificates, condition discharge applications, applications for listed building and conservation area consent and prior notification applications.

As a Senior Planning Officer you will be responsible for some of the more complex minor scale applications as well as working on large-scale commercial and residential developments. You may also be required to deputise for your relevant manager and take on duty for mentoring and assisting junior staff when required.

About you

The successful candidate will ideally be MRTPI accredited and have a degree relative to Town Planning. You should also have proven experience working on similar projects in the UK and knowledge to hit the ground running with little to no supervision.

You will have excellent knowledge of Planning Legislation and how the planning system operates whilst exercising a desire to keep knowledge up-to-date and maintaining competency to adapt to changing legislation.
