Development Management Planning Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in North East England in the search for a Planning Officer to join their Development Management team in the Town Planning department on a 6 - 8 month contract.

The successful candidate will enjoy a varied and interesting range of work, the role requires Development Management experience including sound understanding of process. The successful applicants will be expected to deal with a broad range of cases, some of which will be complex in nature. However, technical planning knowledge is only a basic requirement. The successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the need for customer focus, the ability to apply quick and risk based decision making as well as demonstrating an outcome focused and personable manner.

Candidates should be Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant town planning qualification or significant recent experience of development control services including processing of planning enquiries, planning applications and related matters.

This contract will last for an initial 6 - 8 months.

The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and are offering flexible working hours and are happy to negotiate home working

Carrington West Pay Rate - £25 per/hour (DOE)
