Wirral is home to vibrant, energetic and engaged communities, people who take real ownership of their local area and are passionate about making Wirral a better place.

It is a fantastic place to live, work and visit.

We are an employer who supports, who is flexible but who demands the very best.

The successful applicant will have a relevant degree in town planning as well as some experience of working within Development Management.

The post holder will deal with a range of requests for pre-application advice and formal planning applications, particularly relating to major and other developments in connection with the Wirral Growth Company.   You should have experience of working in Development Management, be able to demonstrate good report writing and problem-solving abilities and work to deadlines with the minimum supervision.  You will be responsible for processing a wide range of planning applications, which will include preparing and presenting reports to the Planning Committee, negotiating planning agreements and will also need to be able to rigorously defend the Councils' decisions at appeal, including Informal Hearings..

The successful candidate will need to have strong analytical, advisory and influencing/negotiation skills, in order to secure good sustainable development.  This post offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge, career progression and who would want to work as part of a dynamic and friendly team to help meet the Borough's growth ambitions.
