Job Details
A client in the Oxfordshire area is looking for some immediate assistance within highways capital delivery projects for a period of 9 months. This position will be within IR35 and can offer a competitive rate of up to £30p/h.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Pro-actively deliver all aspects of successful projects that offer best value for money and achieve commercial targets.
- Manage a small team of technical staff including recruitment, inductions, appraisals, health and safety, learning and development and other appropriate HR matters in accordance with county council policies.
- To act as the expert within the identified field of the job description e.g. drainage, trees, bridges etc.
- To manage or coordinate staff who are working within the same specialist service area (maybe across geographical areas) to ensure shared outcomes are delivered.
- To manage delivery of individual schemes / projects relating to the service area and to manage budgets in accordance to the council's policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
- Project Management.
- Major highway projects experience.
- Chartered engineer (Desirable)
- Sound knowledge of the latest legislative requirements.
- Demonstrable experience of effective engagement with customers and stakeholders within a public service context.
- Previous experience of working at a similar level in local government (Desirable).
