An opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join our friendly team here at Newark and Sherwood District Council. The team incorporates the Council’s development management, enforcement, conservation, technical support, and land charges functions. The role will be working in the Planning Development team processing a varied range of planning and related applications and appeals with a wide breadth of issues including heritage, flood risk and green belt to name a few.
The ideal candidate would have experience of negotiating improvements to the external environment, building good working relationships with stakeholders and be able to make good planning judgements that can be articulated and justified. However newly qualified planners will also be considered. A positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach is a must.
The Council is hugely ambitious and forward thinking, operating from our newly built office in the town centre, which is next to the Castle railway station and close to Newark Northgate station on the London North Eastern Railway.
The Council also operates a flexible working policy with opportunities to work from home.
For an informal discussion about the post please contact Clare Walker on 01636 655834 or Helen Marriott on 01636 655793.

Interview dates to be confirmed and are expected to take place during September.
