Planning Director | Coventry area | East / South / West Midlands background | Equity role
This is a brand new opportunity for an experienced Associate Planner looking to step up to Director, or an existing Planning Director keen to take on a role where they can have more impact and have an equity stake.
This is a leadership role, working alongside an existing Director, to manage a busy office near Coventry and support a growing team of capable Associates, Seniors, Planners and Graduates.
Projects are wide and varied in their scope, including significant developments within the residential sector, commercial planning and rural development schemes, strategic promotions and planning for the public sector.
It is essential that you have at least 10 years' experience and that you have spent recent time working in the east, south or west midlands markets.
Naturally the position will involve delivering large-scale planning schemes, taking ultimate responsibility for the projects and the work of more junior consultants. It will also involve building close client relationships, maximising the potential of existing clients across the private and public sectors and developing new business through networking and promoting the consultancy at every opportunity. Therefore you should be able to demonstrate a recent history of significant projects (all sectors considered) and work-winning activity, including preparing and negotiating fee proposals with prospective clients.
As a leader within the wider business, you will sit on the Board of Directors, sharing your expertise and helping to outline and shape the company’s vision for the future. You will be given an equity stake in the company (subject to meeting certain criteria) and earn generous bonuses as a result of your contribution to the company’s profits and its overall growth and success. The business is rolling out the next stage of their growth plan which includes opening another office, further adding to the number of instructions and boosting its overall success.
You will be rewarded with a generous salary plus a multi-faceted bonus and equity scheme, health insurance, a good pension and many other sideline benefits.
A full UK driving license is essential for this position.
It is expected that candidates will have gained over 10 years’ experience in a Town Planning environment, and it would be advantageous if a good amount of this time had been spent in consultancy. Candidates from all backgrounds will need to show considerable commerciality and a natural flair for networking and negotiation.
Experience in managing projects and leading teams is essential, and any mentoring experience would also be valuable. Experience in appeals is important and any additional background in representing clients at Public Inquiry hearings or even EiPs is a bonus.
You must be a chartered member of the RTPI or RICS (P&D).
This is a great opportunity to join a well regarded and highly ambitious consultancy at a key stage in its history, and at a pivotal point in its future success.
