Associate EIA Planner – South Cambridgeshire

£Neg + Bonus, 8% pension & part time hours available

You work for one of the top firms in the UK, with modern offices and equipment who have successfully lead on several major schemes across the region

You’re an integral part of your projects, acting as a key point of contact for clients and colleagues from other departments

You have a strong academic background, a driven personality with strong career ambitions and a top salary package to match your worth

Right?

If this sounds more like the role, you’d like to have rather than your current position, we should talk. Our client currently has a unique opportunity for an experienced EIA Planner to join their head office, just south of Cambridge.

It’s an exciting time to be joining our clients as they re-structure their EIA team following several successes. Current projects cover Rural, Urban and New community projects across Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and beyond. The firm are well respected in the field and want the Associate EIA Planner to help lead on some of the most ambitious proposals in England. You will be working on a range of developments as part of planning and design teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • As part of a team, managing a portfolio of projects where you lead EIA Screening, and the co-ordination and production of Environmental Impacts Assessment in conformity with the requirements of the EIA Directive and UK Regulations.
  • Review Sustainability Appraisals, prepare/co-ordinate evidence to support the allocation of sites/areas for development/growth at examination or public inquiries.
  • Employ technical expertise in particular EIA topic (Socio-Economics, Health, etc);
  • Liaise with planning case officers, consultees and clients;
  • Make and maintain client relationships;
  • Business Development and winning work; and
  • Proactively help shape a growing team.

The Associate EIA Planner will hold a strong academic background and ideally PEIMA and MRTPI memberships. If you are not MRPTI the firm would be happy to mentor you in this process. The Associate EIA Planner will have great verbal and written skills, built up from a career working in either the private or public sectors. You’ll have expert knowledge and understanding of UK environmental planning regulations and have the ability to think creatively and innovatively to help inform design and strategies.

In return for your hard work, the Associate EIA Planner will be given a competitive salary package and the chance to benefit from the success of the business through profit share schemes and career progression. The benefits package features pension (8% match), private healthcare, life insurance and discretionary bonus. Working hours are 37 hours a week with 25 days holiday (additional days after 2 years). The firm fully embraced agile working so they’re open to flexible working arrangements including part time hours.
