At NCC we’re responsible for all elements of minerals and waste planning, dealing with an average of 500 cases per year and monitoring the performance of over 200 mineral and waste facilities located across the county. We are also responsible for the council’s own development proposals.

We’re looking for people who are interested in shaping a professional career in the field of planning to join our busy and varied team. With professional support and guidance, you will work in all areas of planning. You’ll provide advice to a range of stakeholders relating to the application of standard regulations and agreed policy interpretations. You’ll also aid senior officers to provide bespoke advice on more complex issues

With close supervision you’ll assist the monitoring of minerals and waste capacity and requirements across the county to provide the evidence to inform future policies and strategies. You’ll recommend proportionate responses to breaches of planning control and if required assist with enforcement action.

You’ll have completed a degree in town planning or a related discipline and will have experience of using ICT systems including Microsoft Office. Through a structured programme of training we will support you to gain a Level 7 Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) fully-accredited qualification and qualify as a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI).

This is a great opportunity to carve a career in minerals and waste planning and join a dedicated team of planners in the beautiful county of Norfolk.
