Enforcement Officer

An excellent opportunity for a Planning Enforcement Officer to take on an interim position with a fantastic authority in Hampshire.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Investigating complaints and monitoring of planning application conditions through site inspections, interviews and other research.

Writing up enforcement investigation reports in the context of relevant legislation based on detailed and thorough investigation and making recommendations as to whether to take matters further leading to the serving of an enforcement notice.

Provide advice assistance, guidance and support to members of the team on planning and compliance issues.

Responsibility for maintaining accurate records on files and for following correct office procedures and best practice notes.

Initiating and responding to requests for discussions with applicants and agents, on enforcement investigations.

Deputising for Senior Officers where requested by Planning Managers

Administrative tasks limited to those associated with own area of work

The role will mainly deal with new cases that come in, but may include some existing ones too.

Applicants will need access to their own vehicle for site visits at least once per week, but can utilise the council's strong rail links to the surrounding area, including south/central London the rest of the time.

Rates for this role will range between £30 and £35/h. The role falls within IR35.

The client will be looking to interview in early/mid August for a start soon after.
