This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly-motivated individual to join the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) Planning and Housing team as Strategic Masterplanning Lead to support the WECA and the Unitary Authorities (UAs) in the implementation of strategic planning policy and programmes.

The four West of England Unitary Authorities have led the production of a Joint Spatial Plan that sets out an ambitious plan for growth to 2036. Further work will be undertaken in individual Local Plans. To support delivery of these emerging plans, WECA will be preparing an Infrastructure and Investment Delivery Plan and will be working with the UAs to bring forward Strategic Masterplans.

Under the guidance of the Head of Regional Housing and Planning, you will lead in the provision of efficient and effective co-ordination on strategic masterplanning across the West of England, developing the agenda and reports related to Planning and Housing for Member approval and for undertaking or commissioning related projects and initiatives.

You will be experienced in leading on strategic planning policy work, development management of super large scale majors (500+ homes) and in the process of strategic planning through to implementation in a development or capital projects environment.

Highly organised and an excellent communicator, you will be qualified to degree standard or equivalent and with a relevant professional qualification. You will be a highly motivated team player and a strong leader with the ability to work creatively, collaboratively and effectively with a range of partners across the West of England and across professional boundaries.
