An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Officer based in a Local Authority in Essex.
Post: Planning Officer
Rate: Circa £25- £27 per hour
We are looking for an experienced Planning Officer to work for a busy outer London borough in their Development Management team
You will be dealing all levels of applications from certificates and householders up to and medium size minor applications, as well as coordinating negotiations in pre-application discussions including managing the charging position for relevant pre-application arrangements and negotiating with applicants planning performance and similar agreements
You will be expected to give technical and operational advice to other staff and support them in their learning, through training sessions where appropriate
Ideally you will have some planning experience with a UK authority although consideration will be given to applicants with non UK experience who can demonstrate the required skills.
- At least 1 years recent relevant experience within planning
- Knowledge of planning legislation and good appreciation of current planning issues.
- A clear understanding of strategic and local planning issues, including the relationship between national and local planning policy.
- Degree or post graduate diploma in Town and Country Planning or equivalent.
