Job Details
An efficient commute from London, this Surrey based client is looking for a Senior Planning Officer as an additional resource to their Development Management function!
Responsibilities
Your main duties will be:
- Managing a caseload of minor and major planning applications within statutory time frames
- Provision of paid pre-application advice to developers, architects and external consultants
- Conduct duty planning and provide general planning guidance to statutory, non-statutory, public bodies and the general public
- Coordinate and independently carry out site visits and prepare detailed reports
- Negotiate, finalise and discharge conditions
- Change of use applications
- Advise planning enforcement teams about retrospective planning approval and variation to conditions
Candidate Experience
As the successful candidate, you will:
- Have 3+ years experience assessing and processing similar schemes within UK Local Planning Authorities
- Be educated to degree level in planning or a related subject (Desired, not essential)
- Hold Chartered membership of the RTPI (Desired, not essential)
Working Arrangements
- Pay rates likely to be between £30-40 per hour (Negotiable upon experience)
- IR35 - potentially outside
- Notices will be considered - shorter notices will be favoured
- Flexible working is available - to be discussed on a case by case basis
