A highly focused planning consultancy, providing high quality, professional advice on a range of planning projects. We are seeking to recruit a Senior Planner to join and support our close-knit team on an initial interim period of 3 -4 months.

Our projects span various sectors of planning such as urban regeneration, strategic land, residential, commercial, education, housing associations and conservation. We work on a range of scale and complexity of projects from small residential developments up to developments of 300 houses. We are working on some interesting and exciting projects.

Job Purpose:

Assisting Managing Director and Associates to provide professional planning advice and services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out planning appraisals
  • Preparing Planning and Design and Access Statements
  • Preparing planning applications for submission
  • Preparing and submitting appeals
  • Appointing/liaising with other consultants
  • Managing project budgets
  • Site Visits
  • Attending meetings (clients, planning, project and committee)
  • Working on public consultation strategies
  • Attending public exhibitions
  • Promotion of strategic land
  • Assisting and potentially leading at Hearings and
  • Assisting at Public Inquiries

Person Profile:
  • Personality - degree of self-reliance, good interpersonal skills, experience of team working.
  • Ability to maintain relationships with long-term clients.
  • Specific Job Skills - Qualified planner, driving licence,
  • Computer Skills - Basic word processing, Excel, PDFs
  • Commercial Skills - Negotiation
  • Management Ability - Ability to lead project teams where necessary and liaise with long-term clients.


After the initial 3-4 month contract with the client may look to extend or offer a permanent position.

The hourly rates for this position are negotiable and will depend on experience. The role falls outside IR35.

The client will consider full or part time working, but they need the person to work from their office.
