Are you a self-motivated planning or enforcement officer with considerable
experience in enforcement, looking for your next challenge in a more senior role?

Then this is an excellent opportunity for you to further your career in a busy and forward looking planning service. You will be responsible for investigating, negotiating and resolving the full range of enforcement matters including more complex material changes of use, listed building control and high hedge legislation. You will attend site visits and evening meetings of the relevant council committees, and forums, presenting recommendations in respect of enforcement and any related matters as required. assist the team leader with any specific projects within the planning service (such as participating in continuous development) and prepare and present evidence in respect of appeals against planning enforcement decisions including hearings and public inquiries, in addition you will investigate high hedge complaints and manage any related appeals.

You will be responsible for your own case load, supported by your line manager. You will need a driving licence and will be required to undertake regular site visits. You may also be required to attend evening meetings (with advanced notice).

As a prerequisite for the role you will already hold a degree or postgraduate qualification accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), or hold an equivalent level of qualification, or previous relevant experience. We look forward to hearing from you.
