Job Details
A London based Local Authority is looking for a Highway Development Control Engineer to join their team and are waiting to receive your application!
The ideal candidate will have recent experience working within this sector and be able to work self-sufficiently.
The responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to;
- The processing of Highway Applications associated with the Development Control process including S278, S38 under the Highways Act 1980
- Responding to these applications and highlighting and Highway/Transportation issues.
- Providing Advice based on any issues found and liaising with the Planning Authority.
- Ensuring that development imp[acts of the highway are mitigated and that developments will be integrated to a sustainable transport network with a particular emphasis on cycle paths and pedestrian walk-ways.
- Identify, negotiate and secure by legal agreement Transport/Highway improvements and assessment of commuted sums for the adoption of new infrastructure assets adopted by the authority.
As the successful applicant you should have a strong background within Highways Engineering including the following;
- Degree in Civil Engineering/Transportation or extensive experience
- Proven experience in processing Highway Development Control functions such as S184, S38, S278 and Highway Planning Applications
- A good knowledge of Planning, Development and Transport policies and the accompanying legislation.
- To possess a demonstrable history of working on a number of projects/applications simultaneously throughout the planning process life-cycle.
