Major Projects Senior Town Planner job on largest redevelopment in North London
Your new company
The council is engaged in a major regeneration scheme including significant transport development that would greatly enhance travel across different parts of London. It is heavily involved in a variety of planning applications including for massive residential developments currently on-going as part of its regeneration programme, which is set to provide numerous career progression opportunities.
Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity to move into a public sector focused planning role, working with a range of stakeholders on one of the largest and most exciting regeneration developments in London! You will work alongside Principal Planners in the team to help process a wide range of planning applications associated with the comprehensive regeneration of one of the largest development programmes in London and will deliver £4billion mixed-used scheme covering over 150 acres on behalf of the Local Planning Authority. You will need some expertise in at least one of the following areas of planning work and a broad appreciation of the other specialist areas:
- Policy, development plans, local development documents and spatial planning;
- Urban Design, architecture, heritage and conservation, Master planning;
- Projects, strategic development, and regeneration, development frameworks, corporate initiatives;
- Development Management
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a degree qualified town planner or RICS equivalent with the ability to demonstrate your experience of major planning applications, be able to handle a case load of a range of applications, negotiate with developers and engage with a range of stakeholders. Your knowledge and understanding of the statutory processes involved will be crucial to the development succeeding. You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of planning policy and practice and good IT skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
