Strategic Land Manager | Nottingham | Leading House Builder
Salary: Competitive
Our Client is recruiting for a Strategic Planning Manager to join their busy Strategic Land Team as they develop and grow for the future. The role will be reporting directly into the Strategic Land Director and indirectly into the Main Board. You will be responsible for the strategic planning function of the company, managing the Company's strategic land bank and securing opportunities to meet the Company's requirements and expansion plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and appraise new land opportunities and JV opportunities for development in line with business plans
- Propose acquisition strategies with strong commercial acumen and present development opportunities to senior colleagues for approval
- Formulate and manage offers, coordinate investigations, negotiate with local authorities, agents and lawyers
- Procure technical, legal and development information to instruct internal and external parties to appraise site opportunities and constraints
- Lead proposals from inception to consent
- Negotiate legal agreements, including JV's, with lawyers and third parties
- Implement all internal procedures including providing accurate and articulate reports in line with governance/procedural requirements
- Commercially astute and credible in a highly competitive market
- Skilled in appraising land opportunities and producing cogent financial proposals
- Understands the residential planning environment and has led projects through the planning process
Qualifications:
Graduate with relevant industry degree or graduate calibre individual with experience in acquiring and identifying land for development. Membership of a professional body such as RICS would be a distinct advantage. A thorough knowledge of the planning process and planning law within the UK will help you develop solutions to legal, planning and environmental applications.
