Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the infrastructure that the community needs.

As part of the Strategic & Local Planning Team you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating Planning Obligations (Section 106 agreements), potentially amounting to many thousands of pounds,
  • monitoring development progress across the District,
  • securing payments of significant sums of money from developers and working with key partners to ensure the Infrastructure is delivered on the ground.

The Council recognise the importance and benefits of infrastructure delivery to the local community, so we have created this new post to ensure the growing portfolio of Section 106 planning agreements and the financial contributions received from developers will continue to be well managed into the future.

We are looking for someone with a positive, dynamic and ‘can-do’ outlook that is able to manage databases and work with partners to get results. You will be empowered to improve the operation of this service in a supportive environment, and there is real scope to apply your ideas and innovation and really influence how this service will operate in the future.

Ideally, you will be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), or eligible for early membership.

For an informal discussion please contact Rob Thornhill, Strategic and Local Planning Manager  on 01858 821257 or e-mail at r.thornhill@harborough.gov.uk. to make an appointment.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications, comprising your up to date CV with two referees one of which must be your previous or last employer and a short supporting statement of no more than 2-3 pages describing why your experience, achievements, ambition, and vision make you the right person for one of these exciting roles, is 12 noon  on 4th July 2019.

Interviews will take place w/c 22nd July 2019.
