The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is growing a team of professional, engaged individuals to deliver our vision for an inclusive, globally competitive city region at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse.   This is an exciting time for us, having successfully negotiated and secured a Devolution Agreement with Government and elected the City Region’s first ever metro Mayor.

The Liverpool City Region has a historic opportunity right now: it is growing, with a strong base of innovative and resilient SMEs; it is upgrading its economic infrastructure, linked to Northern Powerhouse Rail, HS2 and improved local connectivity; and an unrivalled quality of life proposition based on cultural intensity and affordable living costs. Yet, like all post-industrial cities, we need to work hard to ensure the benefits reach all citizens.

The Spatial Planning team are responsible for the development of the first City Region Spatial Development Strategy which will be instrumental in shaping the development of the City Region.

We are seeking candidates with specialist spatial planning skills in policy development. But mostly we are looking for team members who are self-starting, collaborative and ambitious, who offer fresh ideas, and who demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based policy making and a determination to deliver for the people of the Liverpool City Region.

Candidates will need a strong understanding of the context and environment that the Combined Authority operates and will be able to demonstrate experience of spatial planning policy development.

This is a 2 year Fixed Term Contract opportunity
