Are you are Town Planner from a private sector background (consultancy or developer) who is looking to take the next step in your career? My client are a residential developer operating across London and the South East, who due to a significant portfolio and future pipeline, are now looking to add a Senior Town Planner to the team

They are a 'hands-on' developer with in-house capabilities to acquire land, obtain planning and complete developments, therefore managing the full life-cycle of their developments. With an excellent culture and staff retention of over 90%, this is an excellent opportunity for a Town Planner looking for a new challenge.



As a Key member of the team, you will:

- Take the lead role in obtaining planning permission for residential and mixed use schemes through the management of sites throughout the planning process

- This involves the initial appointment of Architects and other consultants to produce the required application material, pre-application meetings with planning officers, submission of applications, negotiation with officers once a scheme is submitted and the eventual discharge of planning conditions if consent is achieved.

- Monitor Councils' emerging development plans for our core business areas and instruct planning consultants to make appropriate representations to support our business interests in a given administrative area.

- You will be responsible for maintaining an in-depth understanding of the Five Year Housing Land Supply Position of key Local Planning Authorities.



Experience

You will possess the necessary architectural skills in order to produce initial feasibility layouts of residential and mixed-use schemes, including carry out planning appraisals and assess potential sites. This requires a good understanding of planning policy requirements and the financial implications of specific policies such as affordable housing, s106 contributions and CIL.

You will be an experienced individual who has worked for a house builder or planning consultancy. Having good experience with working within London boroughs and around the southern M25 area would be an advantage, with experience on high density developments being essential including experience with working on financial viability assessments and working with registered housing providers.



Preferably you will be MRTPI qualified. A drivers licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
