1 permanent position & 1 temporary position to cover maternity leave

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is one of the largest and busiest planning departments in the country. We stretch from a boundary with the City of York across the Yorkshire Wolds to the chalk sea cliffs at Flamborough Head. The council is based in the beautiful market town of Beverley.

You will work with the Principal Enforcement Officer and the Enforcement Team Leader to investigate complaints of unauthorised development and monitor planning permissions. You will also manage your own caseload and prepare reports to assist in pursuing formal enforcement action when appropriate.

This is a customer-focused role requiring knowledge and experience of planning together with excellent customer care and communication skills. You will be required to undertake investigations in accordance with best practice.

You must:

  • Be able to understand and interpret technical drawings and plans
  • Possess good IT skills ideally in the use of Uniform Plans Processing System
  • Possess a full driving licence.
