Job Details
I am currently working with an East Midlands based Local Planning Authority, who are looking to bring on an experienced planner with leadership experience to alleviate a large amount of work across the Development Management department. The contract will run for an initial 5-month period, though it is extremely likely to run for longer than this.
You would be responsible for a team that processes a full range of planning applications from larger home extension and prior notifications, through to large scale major applications, master planning for strategic development sites and negotiating s106 agreements and Planning Performance Agreements. You would be allocating work and advising, training and mentoring members of the team to enable them to work at their full potential.
You would also be heading up and prioritising your own extensive workload, including major applications and representing the Council at appeal inquiries and hearings. This role is a great blend of hands on planning work, coupled with a 'management' approach.
Rates have been left open at present, though the council are willing to go out at market rate for this role. To be considered for this role, you must have recent experience working as a Team Leader within a Local Planning Authority and have demonstrable experience of working on major planning applications.
