Senior Planning Officer
My client, a busy Local Authority in West Midlands are looking for a Senior Planning Officer to join their team within Development Management, and in particular working with exciting Area Team planning applications.
You will be joining as a Senior Planning Officer a growing team who are looking to expand their staffing levels with a number of regeneration and major development projects and are looking for someone with experience of dealing with a wide range of applications.
Requirements for Senior Planning Officer post:
- To manage the development process of mainly the more contentious, complex and / or strategic developments in the Borough, including the processing of Planning Applications
- Acting as lead officer for multi-disciplinary, multi-agency pre-application submissions and planning applications for strategically important development proposals
- Deal with formal Appeals against the decisions of the Council; and providing professional advice to Members of the Council, other Council Departments, developers, local residents, Parish Councils, other statutory bodies and stakeholders on development issues
- Be the lead officer for one of the following: mentoring lead to planning officers/appeal lead/committee lead/signing off lead.
In order to be successful for the Senior Planning Officer position you must hold a valid UK driving licence, and be able to clearly demonstrate recent local authority experience handling a mixed caseload of complex minor and major applications.
The client will be looking to pay between £30-35 per hour for the successful Senior Planning Officer and would be looking for somebody to start as soon as possible.
