Job Details
We are currently working with a local authority in Northamptonshire, who are looking to bring on a contract Planning Officer to work independently on a high volume of householder and minor applications, with some scope for work on small major applications.
The contract would be for an initial 6 months, though this is likely to be extended depending on the standard of work provided. Rates for the position start at £32 per hour depending on experience. Due to the nature of the work, this contract has been deemed to fall outside of IR35. Flexible working arrangements and home working is available and encouraged. They are looking for somebody to start this position as soon as possible, but will consider waiting for the right person.
The suitable candidate would need to have a working knowledge of the planning system and will have acquired practical experience as a Planner in development management. A proven track record processing applications, with a Town Planning related degree or diploma, and excellent written and communication skills are absolutely essential for this role.
