Job Description

Development & Streetworks Management be responsible for providing an effective service covering all aspects of Development Agreements in relation to residential development works and internal/external Highway creation projects

Undertaking Technical Approvals of Section 38 and Section 278 Highway Works which may range from a simple pedestrian crossing facility feature to minor and major infrastructure delivery works for urban extensions.

Responsibilities include interpreting, advising and applying national and corporate guidance to help formulate the Policy & working practices in the delivery of the professional and technical services provided by the team to internal and external clients.

Key Accountabilities

To provide comprehensive engineering advice on developer's highway design and construction proposals in line with national standards and Council policy, so as to achieve technical approval for the drawings and specifications which will form the basis of proposed highway infrastructure agreements (under Section 38 and 278 of the Highway Act 1980). Provide advice on Transport Development matters from initial enquiry through to the Technical Approval and adoption processes. Provide expert professional advice and guidance to planning officers, developers, agents and internal consul-tees on transportation issues and requirements to achieve quality designs.

  • Extensive experience of the road construction, road maintenance, civil engineering or within the construction industry
  • A thorough knowledge of relevant elements of the Specification for Highway Works
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Degree or HNC In Civil Engineering or Equivalent
